Our Short Description
Established in 1954 AD (2011 B.S.), Nepal Hockey is among Nepal’s oldest sports governing bodies. Collaborating with district and Provincial Hockey Associations, we strive to popularize and introduce hockey to enthusiasts and youths. Once a dominant sport, especially in Kathmandu during the 1970s and 80s, hockey is now making a comeback. Fifteen local club teams engaged in year-round tournaments then, and we aim to reclaim the spotlight.
In recent years, Nepal Hockey has initiated grassroots programs in schools nationwide. Additionally, we organize two annual tournaments: the Girija Prasad Koirala Memorial Men’s Hockey Tournament and the Sahana Pradhan Memorial Women’s Hockey Tournament. Committed to revitalizing hockey, we actively promote the sport’s resurgence, fostering talent at the grassroots level. Join us on this journey to revive and elevate the stature of hockey in Nepal.
